The manufacture of products for materials requires expertise in specialty processes, such as:
- Grinding.
- Classification.
- Blending.
- Densification.
- Mineral surface treatment.
- Bulk solids handling.
- Fluids handling.
In PT’s experience, implementation of new production capability should follow the following project model:
- Stage 1: Conceptual Engineering – design of the process train and unit operations, equipment sourcing, facilities layout and budgetary cost estimating, followed by client review and approval. Laboratory testing may be required in this stage.
- Stage 2: Detailed Engineering – preparation of detailed equipment specifications and construction drawings, which is performed by the equipment suppliers and sub-contracted process specialists.
- Stage 3: Procurement – of process equipment and construction contractor services.
- Stage 4: Implementation.
- Stage 5: Commissioning.
PT offers conceptual engineering services and project management of all other project stages. Examples of our specialty process work include:
- Terra-Bond™ process design for both synthetic aggregate and hazardous waste encapsulation modes.
- Sulphur based wallboard production facility.
- Specialty fertilizer coating pilot plant.
